Re: How about a little more 'Quatermass'? |
The Quatermass Conclusion is edited from the fourth serial written by Nigel Kneale that wasn't made by the BBC and subsequently aired on ITV in 1979. The series was just called "Quatermass" and starred Sir John Mills as the Prof. I saw the serial at the time and thought it was great but I haven't seen "Quatermass Conclusion" but it is half the length of the series so I guess there's a lot missing from it.
It won't be PD until 2030.

Re: How about a little more 'Quatermass'? |
I didn't even know it existed until I came across it at the video store. In fact at the time I didn't know the Quatermass movies were based on BBC shows. A lot of us here in the US were ignorant of the origins of British characters like Quatermass and Doctor Who. For a lot of us here, our only exposure to Doctor Who was the two movies with Peter Cushing, then when the series started getting shown in the States, the first episodes we saw were the ones with Tom Baker. We didn't get to see the earlier ones until later. Same story with "The Avengers", the first ones we saw were the ones with Dianna Rigg.

I'm sure we got the same thing over here. I remember "Man from Atlantis" had already been cancelled before it premiered over here, and I don't think Star Trek played over here until the third season was nearly over in the states.
Anyway, "Quatermass" was a four part serial and I have downloaded all of them (individually) via bit-torrent so, come 2030, they're ready to upload!
